Job Description

The Post Production Manager for Series is responsible for the implementation of Sony Picture Animation's Editorial and Post Production agenda across all series projects. This position requires strong managerial skills and a detailed understanding of Post Production in television/streaming animation.

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. Responsibilities
• Directly oversee and manage all Post Production Management personnel for series, including Post Production Supervisors and Post Production Coordinators
• Work with VP and Director of Post to manage SPA series job postings for Editorial and Post, source and review candidates, and facilitate interviews as recommended
• Employ Creative Editors & Editorial teams across all shows
• Actively collaborate with Post Executives to design and implement departmental standards, guidelines, methodologies, work flows, and best practices for current and upcoming series
• Work hands-on with productions during animatic production, assisting the production teams in achieving their schedule and deliverables
• Develop schedules and budget needs for a constantly evolving environment
• Stay informed of Production, VFX, and Post Production best practices across departments on current productions
• Liaise with Line Producer on any changes that are relevant to the budget
• Develop and maintain business relationships with ADR, sound, DI, QC, mastering, and archiving vendors as needed
• Manage, recommend, and drive securing relevant bids for series Post work, including maintaining an evolving Post vendor database
• Act as a liaison between SPA and our distributors (Netflix, Amazon, Max, etc.) to cover topics like distribution, international post, mastering, home entertainment, archiving, etc.
• Be the Post Production point person who can drive series post and archiving deliverables to conclusion, even after production staff has rolled off
• Balance the staffing needs of current and emerging shows
• Assist Development and Marketing departments when they are in need of Editors for one-off projects related to the series in development or production
• Partner with Production and Post executives to implement procedures for emerging media
• Keep VP and Director of Post informed of pertinent updates for each series as they evolve

Skills/Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years Production Management experience in a television or streaming animation environment
• Must be able to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities and daily time constraints
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Should have a working knowledge of NLE systems, like Avid Systems, Adobe Premiere, Davinci Resolve, and other Adobe applications
• Must have both broad and specific knowledge of the many tools and software used in Production and Post
• Should be able to work within Google apps, Microsoft Office apps, and budgeting software

The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000 to $115,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
