Sales Reporting Analyst

At Sony Pictures Television (SPT), Sales Operations develops and distributes budgets for our customers and track performance against these targets for the US market across all lines of business (digital and physical customers), providing Senior Management and internal departments insights to sales performance. The team oversees the monthly product lifecycle update that provides SPT Senior Staff with updated SPT forecasted performance vs. annual budget. The team analyzes data and finds opportunities for increased sales performance through improved business processes and implementation of sales business tools. The team is also in charge of managing SPT trade spend process from budgeting to monitoring and reporting.

Roles & Responsibilities

Account Reporting:
• Assist in creating P&L and Scorecard reports to monitor, analyze and summarize SPT Distribution physical and digital businesses by account, format, and life cycle
• Organize reports into visually appealing presentation and distribute reports internally
• Prepare variance analysis of actuals versus budgets and forecasts to enable management to monitor performance and drive strategy for maximum profitability
• Assist in creating and designing scorecards and other financial reports that deliver insightful and timely reporting. Prepare financial analyses for financial and operational management

New Release Reporting:
• Prepare weekly transactional reports to track actual performance of SPE product
• Extrapolate missing data to deliver a comprehensive view of actual performance
• Provide 8 week forecasts to determine any variance to our go-to market goals

Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of the annual commercial budget
• Help the Sales team through the account business plan process by providing forecasting templates
• Assist in the creation of allocation by customer and by product lifecycle of the annual budget
• Consolidate all budgets/forecasts for North American accounts by channel and territory
• Work closely with Sales Planning team to develop monthly comprehensive view of SPT business.

System Ownership:
• The team will act as the product owner for the following applications: HEDW and HECT. As product owner, prioritize enhancements and work with IT to deliver new functionality based on changing business needs.

Business Knowledge:
• Learn and understand all lines of the SPT business: Digital, Physical, SVOD, AVOD


Ad-Hoc:
• Create ad hoc scorecards and reports with large data sets and minimal guidance. Collaborate on various commercial initiatives to drive SPHE performance. Help refining business processes.

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Statistics or relevant field is strongly preferred
• A minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience is required. Experience within the entertainment/consumer packaged goods industry collaborating with both internal and external sales and management teams is strongly preferred
• Prior work experience within a fast-paced sales environment is required

Preferred Experience
• Experience working with major retailers (physical or digital)
• Experience with retail landscape, Entertainment and/or Consumer Packaged Goods industry, market factors and strategies

Technical and Analytical Skills
• Strong capability with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel) is required
• Strong skills in analytical data systems used to pull and analyze sales data including, but not limited to, Business Objects, Tableau, Alteryx, Essbase and account specific vendor data portals
• Analyzing and summarizing large data sets into an effective summary to facilitate decision making and strategic planning
• P&L management

Communication and Time Management
• Excellent attention to detail required and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
• Adaptability, flexibility, ability and desire to learn new systems/databases
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with varying levels of management
• Coordination and collaboration with internal departments as well as the ability to work independently
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Resourceful self-starter with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts
• Exhibit emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively throughout organizational hierarchies
