What a VO Designer does at Criterion:

You are a VO Designer supporting our Voice Over/Audio team. Collaborating with multiple teams across the world in recording and editing voice assets, document and asset management, and the technical aspects of asset integration in our 3D editor Frostbite.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making great games, demonstrates excellent voice production skills, is a strong problem-solver as well as an effective communicator.

VO Designer overview:
• Work closely together with the Audio director and VO team to ensure the VO team delivers the highest quality VO for our games.
• Edit, process, implement and mix placeholder and final VO content into the game.
• Work within the FrostED game editor to import, name, and organise voice over assets for in game playback
• Participate in voice over recording and performance capture sessions
• Contribute with creative and technical solutions to improve VO in our games.
• Test and Quality Control of in-game audio assets
• Organise and update script documents, design documents, and voice over .wav files
• Work together with other disciplines to ensure good VO implementation and workflow.
• Work together with Localization to ensure cohesion between English and localised languages.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience as a VO Designer working in the Games industry
• BA, BSc, or equivalent work experience in Sound Design, Music Production or Recording Arts.
• Basic knowledge of audio theory and audio editing practices; includes knowledge of waveform editing, equalisation, compression, mixing, plug-ins.
• Proficient with modern studio hardware, recording techniques, and software such as Reaper, ProTools, Sound Forge, Waves plugins, RX etc
• Experience or knowledge of audio game development tools, such as Wwise, FMOD, or other proprietary Editors.
• Basic technical proficiency or knowledge of 3D editors. Knowledge or experience with any visual scripting program (such as Reaktor, Max, Pure Data, UDK)
• A passion for learning and sharing, seeking new ways to improve VO in our games.
