Senior Data Scientist - Gameplay (FIFA)

The Challenge Ahead:

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work with our FIFA HD franchise by modeling and developing insights around the gameplay experience. You are technically-oriented individual, passionate about football, and ready to help improve the experience of many FIFA players. You report to a central analytics and data science team, but work directly with producers, designers, and technical leads on the FIFA team. You use your knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning to influence changes to the way millions of players play FIFA.

What a Senior Data Scientist does at EA:
• Build models, analyses, and reports that support and grow our understanding of the gameplay experience, partnering with producers, designers, and other data scientists.
• Test new technologies and methodologies to solve existing problems in more efficient ways.
• Understand how to use principles of machine learning to help learn and tune in game experiences.
• Document analysis projects, methodologies, and conclusions.
• Understand the consequences of production models and business actions taken.
• Understand the needs of team members and other partners, providing direction on best practices and business expectations.
• Support other senior team members with technical knowledge and validation, including ensuring quality coding and deployment practices.

Requirements
• MS or greater in a field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics.
• 5 or more years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related area in a consumer products-oriented industry.
• SQL skills, including experience querying complex data sets such as platforms like Apache Hive.
• Experience developing statistical and machine learning models using languages like Python, R, or Ruby.
• Knowledge of programming best practices, version control, and automation.
• Experience presenting and prioritizing with people at multiple levels of business and technical expertise.
• Knowledge of football, its mechanics, and the tools and systems used to track it.
