Director of Product Management - Development Release Engineering (DRE)

To manage the scope and depth of our Game Development Workflows (GDW) team within Creative Technologies, we are looking for a Director of Product Management who will report directly to the Head of Product Management for Creative Technologies and will lead the product management function within the team.

You will guide the future of Game Development Workflow product offerings and will ensure our game creators have the best available tools in the industry. This includes; Defining objectives and key results and owning prioritization of the backlog of initiatives and milestones for a portfolio of product areas with significant impact. Communicating and aligning the roadmap with the user community, key stakeholders, and senior leaders. Building partnerships with engineering, cross-functional teams, and external partners to drive long term vision and strategy. Lead the product management team and align their contributions with the overall strategy and roadmap, and act as a trusted thought leader in the field and the practice of product management.

You will drive the following areas by:

Strategy
• Set product objectives and key results that align with the company strategy to anchor the team.
• Formulate a cohesive product strategy for a portfolio of products by leveraging the team.
• Create and drive initiatives that grow the portfolio of products by enabling the team.
• Enable the team to leverage cross-functional expertise to build defensible points-of-view and become subject matter experts.
• Build strategic options and roadmap using analytical rigor.
• Prioritize initiatives using a sound and defensible decision criteria.

Design
• Empower the team to create a compelling story rooted in usable design.
• Ensure the design story explains the Product Strategy to a broad set of audiences from executives to engineers.
• Leverage cross-functional teams of Product Managers, Designers, and Architects to distill the design story into a Product Spec.

Analysis
• Manage high-level stakeholder relationships to ensure appropriate engagement and satisfaction regardless of roadmap and delivery timing, prioritization, or level of investment.
• Resolve most conflicts by coaching the team to self-resolve.
• Ensure appropriate return on investment for all activities, new capabilities, and existing platforms.

Execution
• Optimize delivery across the portfolio through coaching to ensure an effective flow of value to the customer base.
• Remove organizational or other significant blockers to ensure speed, predictability, and quality of delivery for the product team.

Leadership, Influence & Drive
• Communicate the Strategic Roadmap of key initiatives to various stakeholders including execs and senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate, partner, and align with other teams across EA. Influence stakeholders via thought leadership and artifacts.

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in technical product management or leading software development teams.
• You have experience managing a portfolio of products/technologies that relate to game creation, development management, and general process optimization.
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary Development team in planning and execution.
• Experience assessing the performance and quality of the products.
• Willing to travel as required.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

º $160,200 - $229,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
