In this role, you will work at the crossroads of new technologies and existing laws to provide those answers, helping Google build innovative and important products for our users around the world.

You will be negotiating, drafting, and analyzing a wide variety of music and video content licensing and related agreements for YouTube's and Google's growing digital media business. You'll be analyzing and advising on legal issues relating to the use of music across the entire spectrum of Google products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $232,000-$348,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Resonsibilities:
• Respond promptly to legal requests from Business Development, Policy, Licensing, Marketing and other business areas.
• Negotiate, draft, and review multi-territorial music and video content licensing agreements with music publishers and collecting societies, primarily for YouTube.
• Advise Business Development, as well as Finance and other company departments, on legal issues and risks, complex deal structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures, intellectual property, together with advising on overall strategic positioning.
• Support and advise Policy teams on legislative proposals and implementations relevant to YouTube and Google.
• Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:
• JD, equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience as an attorney.
• Experience with commercial agreements, digital music licensing agreements, and support of multi-territorial licensing entities.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state in of hire.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience, either in-house or private practice, of negotiation of music licensing agreements with record labels, music publishers, and collecting societies for digital platforms.
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
• Excellent work ethics, well organized with an analytical approach and ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
