P&C Coordinator (12mth FTC)
The People & Culture Coordinator will support the People & Culture team as well as the business by assisting in the development and execution of P&C initiatives that ensure Warner Bros. Discovery remains an employer of choice, providing solutions to employee-related matters, and assisting with general project management, conflict resolution and relationship management. This position relies heavily on the use of Excel, Workday and other platforms such as SAP and local government portals.
This position will be located in Shanghai, China.
The People & Culture Coordinator will be a positive self-starter who can think strategically about big picture business goals as well as tactically execute a full range of People & Culture initiatives. In this dynamic culture, the role will serve as a partner to the business and a liaison with the broader HR community of Warner Bros. Discovery. Candidates for this position should be innovative, solution-oriented, analytical, collaborative, and be able to engage with colleagues across level, location, and discipline. The role must effectively work in a fast-paced creative environment, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the department.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Support the People & Culture team by providing project coordination and assisting in the implementation of corporate programs, talent management, compensation planning, employee development, succession planning, performance management and change management initiatives.
• Handle routine inquiries, correspondences, and departmental administration for the China People & Culture team
• Work with data and metrics, utilize HR systems (e.g., Workday, Excel, SAP, and local government portals) to manage data, generate reports, and analyze metrics to support decision-making.
• Handle on-boarding and off-boarding process for all employees (full-time, temporary and intern), ensuring a seamless experience and compliance with company policies.
• Handle all administration relating to foreign workers, including visa and work permit applications, payroll processing, employee documentation, social insurance contributions, and compliance with China's labor regulations.
• Support all People & Culture activities relating to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, Shanghai project, including but not limited to including employee engagement, training coordination, and culture-building initiatives.
• Coordinate with external temporary agencies as required.
• Create presentation decks, charts, graphs, and various materials, to support P&C initiatives and leadership communications
• Serve as a People & Culture point of contact, intake information/requests from employees and managers, and assist the People & Culture team to resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner.
• Apply and communicate company policies, ensuring alignment with WBD's global standards and local regulations.
• Develop strong working relationships with all People & Culture functions (including Recruitment, Learning & Development, HRIS, Compensation & Benefits) to provide 'seamless' support and guidance to the business
• Monitor compliance with China's labor laws and regulations, including social insurance, labor dispatch rules, and employee data privacy requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within Human Resources
• Collaborative working style
• Fluent Chinese (Mandarin) and English, with good written communication in both languages
• Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn, grow and develop
• Thrives in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Strong in communicating with others and builds strong relationships with colleagues and employees
• Good judgment and ability to balance the needs of the company and employees
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization and project management skills
• High level of proficiency with Excel formulas, formatting, pivot tables and other analytical functions
• Working knowledge of compensation and benefits practices, including familiarity with China's social insurance and housing fund requirements
• Experience in working with a culturally diverse workforce and navigating complex stakeholder dynamics
• Knowledge of national, state and local Employee and Labor Relations practices, laws and regulations
• Experience with visa and work permit processes for foreign workers in China is a plus.
• Familiarity with the entertainment or tourism industry, particularly supporting large-scale projects like the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai, is an advantage.
