Smith Entertainment Group is looking for a Corporate Communications Coordinator who will play a vital role in helping build a variety of internal and external messaging for the Utah Jazz, Utah Mammoth, and Delta Center. This role is essential in drafting press materials, managing media monitoring and reporting, and assisting with internal communications that reflect the company's voice and values. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with a grasp of today's media landscape, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate across departments. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of PR & Corporate Communications.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop first drafts of press releases, advisories, and media pitches that reflect compelling narratives with timely and relevant news angles.
• Draft internal communications including, but not limited to, employee memos, committee newsletters, and weekly emails and effectively reflect SEG's brand voice throughout each piece.
• Proactively gather information from internal departments to assist with drafting press releases, media advisories, and internal communications.
• Manage the media monitoring process - manage the daily clips reporting for brand/business communications, provide internal departments with key metrics upon request, and compile detailed coverage metrics and reports for specific campaigns.
• Regularly update internal communications platforms such as coverage trackers and the intranet.
• Build, maintain, and update media contact lists.
• Assist with strategic planning and pitch creation.
• Provide support at basketball and hockey games, arena shows, and other media events, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field required.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• 1-3 years of PR, Communications, and/or professional writing experience, with experience in an agency, corporate, or sports environment preferred.
• Understands news cycles and identifies trends and storylines relevant to the organization's goals and objectives.
• Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) or ability to quickly learn.
• Basic understanding of social media platforms, including posting and content best practices.
• Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with the utmost discretion and diplomacy.
• Passion for sports.

• Willingness to assist with additional responsibilities as needed.
• Ability to work a flexible, event-based schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Position based in Salt Lake City, Utah; remote-work (full or part time) is not permitted.
