Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is looking for a VP, Global Marketing Operations & Distribution to join the motion picture group's Stage 6 Films label. Stage 6 Films is the independent production and acquisition unit at SPE's Worldwide Acquisitions division.

Stage 6 Films acquires and produces moderately budget motion pictures across a variety of genres. Its varied pictures range from specialty films to wide release studio films distributed through the studio labels, including Columbia Pictures, Screen Gems, TriStar Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics, and Sony Pictures Releasing International.

Stage 6 Films prides itself on elevated genre films, debut filmmakers as well as diverse stories and creators. It's films include DON'T BREATHE, SEARCHING, the upcoming DEVOTION and A MAN CALLED OTTO starring Tom Hanks, as well as the INSIDIOUS franchise. Stage 6 Films is also prolific in the specialty films business with its acquisitions of international rights to films like ZOLA, I CARRY YOU WITH ME, SOUND OF METAL, AMMONITE, DREAM HORSE, EIGHTH GRADE, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, LEAVE NO TRACE, WHIPLASH and the upcoming SISU.

The role is a unique opportunity to operate as a marketing and distribution executive with the main goal to bring compelling stories to audiences globally. The executive will be Stage 6 Films and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions' main marketing executive for the company's independently produced feature films which are to be released through one of the various Sony Pictures distribution labels and/or third party distribution partners. They will be tasked with working on a variety of content from theatrical releases, to specialty platform releases to non-theatrical multi-platform releases, in a fast-paced, high volume, high performing environment.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with theatrical marketing, direct-to-consumer marketing, legal, business strategy/finance teams to plan and execute all partnership marketing strategies, initiatives and releases.
• Oversee the creation of and/or consult on and approve creative marketing assets (key art, trailer, press releases, etc..), release strategy and execution for specialized and digital releases.
• You will be responsible for compiling marketing materials and various assets for and from the studio, hire outside vendors working on the EPK/BTS Creative Content, Photography direction, Publicity direction, while ensuring all contracts and NDAs are in place.
• Supervise Marketing Asset Clearance (music, billing, etc…) with Legal Affairs and filmmakers.
• Provide marketing and distribution strategy consultations with Filmmakers, Publicists, partner distributors and Sony executives for specialized and digital releases.
• Create internal marketing/pitch materials inclusive of sizzle reels, presentation decks and digital content.
• Manage Film Festival and Awards submissions, strategy and special screenings.
• Collaborate with Sony Pictures Releasing International for Stage 6 Films releases internationally.
Oversee and manage release dating schedule and roll out strategy across the various distribution groups/markets.
• Oversee talent shooting schedules and travel and transportation arrangements for media promo days/ shoots. Circulate itineraries to talent reps/ filmmakers as well as internal distribution for all shoots.
• Negotiate rates with outside publicists, talent groomers, stylists, etc. Structure deal memos and manage communication of talent and production schedules for special shoots and/or film festival appearances.
• Oversee digital asset libraries and facilitate delivery of all film assets to agencies, partners and production vendors for all titles (trailers, TV spots, key art, etc.)
• Responsible for billing and for talent related marketing costs including all vendor maintenance and reconciliation of all procurement card purchases. Ensure all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Oversee company social media accounts and company website.

Requirements:
• An in-depth knowledge of the global market for films and of changing audience tastes and trends.
• Ability to provide a recommendation of the commercial impact and quality of finished films and screenplays by weighing their strengths and even weaknesses taking into consideration specific audiences and recent comparable box office results.
• Attending film festivals may be required.
• Role is in-person, based on the Sony Pictures Entertainment studio lot in Culver City, CA

Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience in feature film marketing
• Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced, high performing, high volume business environment.
• Quick learner with energy to drive aggressive and flexible deadlines while managing multiple priorities
• Analytical and quick thinking in a fast-paced environment is essential
• Must be a self-starter with a team-player attitude an ability to work well in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision
• Strong abilities in project management and prioritization
• Excellent communication skills – written and oral (must have a professional and courteous demeanor)
• Must work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, able to adapt to growing business needs and possess strong interpersonal and management skills
• Possesses high standards of professionalism and leadership
