Manager, Content Strategy & Acquisition
The Content Strategy and Acquisitions team within the Global TV distribution organization at Sony Pictures has an opening for a Manager. The team works closely with the various Production units to greenlight new series and MOWs for the sales organization to distribute worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical and detail oriented candidate with strong curiosity about TV content. The ability to summarize sophisticated analysis and present recommendations in a clear and concise manner to senior management is critical to success as well. The role will report to the VP, Distribution & Content Acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle ultimate process for TV Series and MOWs. Ensure accurate and timely communication of ultimate values to Finance and Sales organization, including risks and opportunities, and recommend quarterly adjustments.
• Maintains accurate and timely ultimate commitment updates in sales planning systems that are used by territories around the globe in order to achieve projections.
• work through cross-functional coordination with the different Production units and Finance groups, as well as, territory Sales and Account Planning teams to monitor and report on progress towards achieving ultimate targets.
• Provide input/recommendations on greenlighting potential new series and MOW acquisitions based on script and comp title analysis.
• Develop, maintain and distribute reporting to track performance of 3rd party partner titles.
• Assist VP and SVP with ad hoc analysis as needed to support the sales teams globally.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor degree required in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or other analytical field
• 3-4 years experience in a previous analytical role, preferably in content distribution or home entertainment but not required
• Ability to think strategically and be proactive in improving processes
• Resourceful with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficiency navigating systems and financial models
• Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and comfort learning new systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present analysis
