Distribution Research Trainee, Sony Pictures Television – Summer/Fall 2023

This Summer/Fall Trainee position is from May/June through December 15th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

North American Distribution Research is a dynamic and data-driven team that supports the distribution and monetization of film and television content in the US and Canada. Distribution Research spans all platforms of television: Network, Cable, Broadcast Syndication, SVOD, AVOD, transactional and other digital platforms. This role is physically located in Los Angeles but will provide support for SPT business efforts across North America.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and update daily/weekly data tracking
• Run reports using multiple data tools and applications
• Collect, consolidate, and analyze data from multiple sources
• Grow to deliver verbal and written insights to team and clients

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Interest in television content and the television industry
• Solid Excel abilities
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
• Comfort with data and basic mathematical functions
• A willingness to learn data tools and the process for analysis
• Strong communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Curiosity for data and analytics
• Familiarity with television data, particularly Nielsen ratings
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong time-management skills
