Amazon MGM Studios also produces and acquires Original movies for theatrical release and exclusively for Prime Video.
Amazon MGM Studios is hiring a Business Affairs Coordinator on the Business Affairs (BA) movies team where you will help Amazon MGM Studios deliver innovative content. We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented candidate to join our team in Culver City, California - someone who is excited about the intersection of complex deal-making and data analysis within the entertainment industry.
In this role, you will manage approval and payments schedules on film projects and support administrative duties as needed. You will also partner closely with cross-functional teams, translating complex contractual and business data into clear, actionable insights. You're someone who can independently manage competing priorities, respond with urgency when it counts, and consistently deliver results with minimal oversight.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with entertainment industry agreements including deal terms, structures, and dynamics that drive the business - whether from an agency, production company, studio, or network. You know how to move fast without sacrificing accuracy, and you're energized by high-volume, high-stakes work that demands both analytical rigor and sound judgment. Above all, you bring a rare combination of business acumen, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the discretion required to handle highly confidential information with the utmost professionalism - at every level of the organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with internal production, legal, creative and finance teams and with film production staff to delineate terms and ensure talent payments are made in a timely manner.
- Own corporate approval over development and pre-greenlight spend on various film projects.
- Support administrative needs within the department as needed.
- Manage high volume deal and option entry, tracking and analysis in Rightsline, including various report and grid maintenance.
- Use Airtable for project management, database creation, and workflow automation.
- Act as an internal and external point of contact for deal related questions and inquiries.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role with business affairs/contracts/legal or television distribution licensing background
- Knowledge of purchase orders and invoice payments
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, etc.
- Quantitative analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in international intellectual property rights licensing businesses (preferably from the wider media, television, film or computer game industry)
- Experience working with third party contractual relationships (record labels, publishers)
