Payroll Specialist

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure weekly payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time
• Verify the accuracy of weekly employee data changes for new hires, rehires, terminations, status changes, rate changes, leave of absences, and other payroll inputs from our Human Resources Business partners and external vendors
• Responsible for maintaining projects in the time and attendance system
• Process terminations and generate final checks
• Generate weekly reports and files to be used internally and externally
• Research and produce reports for distribution to various departments as needed
• Process the import of financial information into the Pixar's Financial ERP system

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 3 years' experience processing payroll
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be customer service oriented
• Knowledge of federal and state pay rules and regulations and payroll fundamentals including payroll tax, reporting, balancing, US pay policies, garnishments and payroll best practices
• Experience with Workday Payroll & ADP
• Knowledge of Oracle financial system preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail and quality control
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Willingness to take initiative and resolve problems
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization
• Ability to work well independently within a fast paced, dynamic, deadline orientated environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
