Job Description
The PBS Foundation provides philanthropic support on behalf of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and its member stations. In supporting PBS, the PBS Foundation seeks private funds from individuals, foundations, and corporations for priority initiatives and conducts such activities as prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and donor stewardship; generation of proposals; grants management; and management of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

Reporting to the Director of Prospect Development, and in continuous collaboration with frontline fundraisers, the Prospect Development Analyst works to provide prospect research support, implement prospect management processes, track prospect activity, and ensures critical prospect development datapoints are captured in the donor CRM.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with the Director of Prospect Development to proactively plan and execute strategies to identify sources of major, principal, institutional and planned gifts.
• Help develop and execute strategies to ensure that newly identified prospects are presented and assigned to appropriate fundraisers in a timely manner.
• Prospect Research
• Validate and analyze wealth screening results and use them to segment prospects, create reports, and inform follow-up strategies Compose prospect research documents (profiles, bios, event briefings).
• Interpret and extract key information, including giving histories, which helps to direct cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Capture and input prospect research into CRM, ensuring its accessibility to fundraising staff for future cultivation strategies.
• Research gift prospects on a reactive and proactive basis and make appropriate assignment recommendations to gift officers.
• Moves Management
• Maintain, update, and administer moves/portfolio management system to drive identification, cultivation, and solicitation strategies for donors and prospects.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of prospect development practices.
• Provide user support to frontline fundraisers to ensure procedures are being followed.
• Provide support for prospect strategy and event meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements for success:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in Development in a non-profit and/or educational institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in prospect research for major gift fundraising.

Skills/Abilities Required:
• Understanding of fundraising practices with an emphasis on the donor relationship cycle and fundamentals of prospect development.
• Ability to identify and prioritize prospects for major/principal/institutional giving and planned giving.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data as well as try new approaches and explore new sources.
• Ability to proactively organize and prioritize work, resolve problems, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
• Consistently demonstrate respect for inclusion, diversity, and ethics.
• Knowledge of ethics statements by APRA, AFP, and other related associations.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency using research databases such as Lexis-Nexis for Development Professionals, DonorSearch, WealthEngine, iWave, RelSci, WealthX, Foundation Center, etc.
• Experience and comfort working with donor CRMS (Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, etc.)
