Job Description
The Director, Post Production manages the team responsible for long-form Post Production at PBS. The Director provides oversight related to operational optimization, creativity and innovation in addition to the team's professional development. As a member of the Content Operations leadership team, the Director, Post Production will work with peers to further Content Operations goals of Operational Excellence.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Manage the Post Production team who executes content edits and final packaging of programs set for PBS broadcast or multiplatform distribution
• Work with team to optimize workflows, operate budgets and maintain technical standards
• Maintain comprehensive Post Production training guides for use by team, broader PBS staff, executives and producers
• Ensure team maintains creative standards and inspires creative outputs and solutions
• Coordinate between internal PBS clients including Multiplatform Marketing, Distribution and Programming
• Confirm technical infrastructure can support production needs
• Align each team member's individual professional development with training, department needs and goals
• Coordinate end-of-year reporting to evaluate volume, quality, budget, staffing and resources for team
• Align department growth strategies with corporate area business objectives

Requirements for success:
• At least 5 years' experience in media operations and post production.
• Knowledge of general media post-production; familiarity with public media programming, distribution, guidelines and practices preferred
• Experience with industry standard non-linear editing software, e.g. Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, etc.
• Experience managing vendor agreements & bids
• Bachelor's degree in communications or related field with experience in a public media environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of public media guidelines and practices regarding program distribution
• Knowledge of standard post production activities in a media environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Financial and budget management skills
• Effective organizational skills
• Advanced problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
