JOB PURPOSE

Play a critical role within our fast-paced digital advertising sales organization, with a focus on driving digital revenue through the sales of our Apple News. The Commercial Director will be responsible for building and leading the UK sales team and growing revenue across multiple platforms through the development and sale of creative advertising solutions.

DUTIES AND Responsibilities:
include, but are not limited to:
• Lead and manage the UK sales team ensuring they are focused on delivering the best ideas, relationships, and results across their book of business.
• Drive digital advertising sales, developing new digital and social revenue opportunities, penetrating new verticals and markets (from new clients and for new platforms and activations), and shaping future digital monetization opportunities
• Partner with VP, Digital & Advanced Ad Sales to develop outstanding trading relationships with key holding companies within the UK.
• Engage clients and agencies at a senior level to influence spend across NBCU Digital products.
• Understand customer KPI's and look for opportunities to develop monetize-able solutions, including customizable cross-platform opportunities that meet client needs.
• Keep abreast of the continually evolving digital media marketplace, customers, and competition in order to conceive and effectively execute a sales strategy that generates and informs product offerings and drives improved operations and financial results
• Work cross-functionally, activating key business units within NBCU and Sky to ensure pipeline creation, revenue goal achievement and end customer success
• Leverage your mastery of media and communications to develop winning brand and media strategies for growth

QUALIFICATIONS
• Sales and Leadership experience across the UK Digital Advertising Ecosystem – CTV, Mobile, Native and Performance advertising experience a plus.
• Leading, growing and nurturing diverse teams to create a high-performance sales culture
• A champion of customer-first cultures, where the needs of the customer inform product and the go-to-market, creating a virtuous cycle of customer growth and retention.
• Knowledge of the digital media / social media landscape, including both Programmatic and Direct advertising models.
• A track record of managing negotiations for large contracts
• Data driven with a solid understanding of digital advertising performance metrics and digital measurement capabilities.
• Proven experience in delivering against revenue and profitability goals across multiple products and offerings
• Exceptional relationships within the UK agency landscape.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external partners and constituencies to execute programs in a unified effort using best practices
• Analytical / strategic thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful, able to initiate change and motivate innovation and creativity
• The ability to influence and manage stakeholders at all levels and work with the wider Global organization to achieve our goals.
