This Digital Asset Coordinator position will be responsible for collecting, archiving and distributing all relevant digital assets created on a Production. These files are necessary to feed various lines of business within the greater Marvel/Disney Studio system.
They will work directly with all Production Departments, vendors, and Disney and Marvel corporate teams to provide training and assistance in the use of 5th Kind's Core Digital Asset Management system, and to ensure files are being captured and organized properly. They will be required to understand and monitor multiple workflows to ensure they are being completed on time.
This position is part of a larger Digital Assets team. The job will require intensive metadata input and project based reorganization. Additionally, this role will work closely with other members to provide support and backup for various processes, including Licensing, Marketing, Promotions, and Publishing workflows.
Knowledge of the Core system is not expected, and the hire will be trained. The length of training will vary but the first six months will include instilling a knowledge base of our systems, shadowing of other team members, and learning the production process before being fully assigned to a specific production. Ideally the candidate should have some working knowledge of logic-based troubleshooting, user relations, and time management in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and the ability to wrangle communication between many different users and roles is key to this job.
The position is Atlanta-based and the candidate is expected to be present at the assigned studio lot at least five days a week. There is potential for weekend, night, and overtime work which will require flexibility in one's schedule. Work hours may become production dependant, this will be addressed upon need. Some travel may be allowed when necessary (this includes offsite departments, visiting vendors, and potential interstate or international travel).
Responsibilities:
Management of digital asset system:
• Administration of company and user account permissions and options within the system.
• Maintain the organization of digital assets within the DAM system.
• Work closely with Digital Operations team to receive, send and archive content.
• Assist in creating and editing the groups within Marvel's DAM to facilitate organization of assets for easier access.
• Add and edit attributes such as creator, status, notes for assets to maintain current and accurate asset status.
Facilitate the collection of digital assets and secure data transfers to/from internal and external sources:
• Provide front line communication, instructions and provide monitoring and assistance for internal and external sources to deliver content to the Marvel DAM.
• Upload delivered content and assets from production servers into the Marvel DAM by applying the appropriate metadata and access rights.
• Apply appropriate watermarking and security settings based on delivery requirements.
• Follow up to ensure deliveries were completed successfully.
Provide front line support to users of the DAM system:
• This includes troubleshooting issues with login, forgotten passwords, training and walkthrough for assisting users with uploading and accessing assets.
Qualifications & Minimum Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Strong experience with computers, including: Operating Systems (Macintosh and Windows), Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Windows Edge).
• Must have strong organizational skills to maintain multiple tasks and the status of each daily.
• Must be proactive and capable of using system and workflow knowledge to avoid issues before they disrupt workflow.
• Very strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with different groups of people from various departments.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally upon approval.
Preferred Experience:
• 6 months or more working on film productions.
• Experience working with digital media, which could include the following: other DAM/MAM systems, transcoding video, manipulating media in programs like Photoshop and Premiere.
• Familiar with various video and image formats including; TIF, PNG, JPEG, CR2, WMV, MOV, MP4, etc.
• Knowledge of basic industry technology standards such as: aspect ratios, letterboxing, streaming, compression techniques, etc.
The hiring range for this position in California is $51,237.15 to $66,306.70 per yearbased on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
