THE ROLE
We're looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Accounts Payable Specialist with strong organizational skills and a professional, solutions-driven approach. This role is responsible for managing AP inquiries and transactions, ensuring accurate payment processing, banking transfers, and issue resolution while delivering exceptional service to internal teams and external vendors.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Answer calls from internal /external sources regarding AP status of invoices/checks
• Process check void request and stop payments
• Sort incoming mail
• Perform banking transfers, including stop payments, ACH pay transfers, confirmation of positive pay file transfers, outstanding payments, duplicate payments, and other research issues.
• Escalate unresolved issues as necessary to the AP Supervisor and/or the AP Manager
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• High school diploma required, some college or college degree nice to have
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
• Previous experience in a Retail banking or finance, Accounts Payable or Accounting environment preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, formulas, data analysis).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or in a team environment under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor when interacting with internal teams and external vendors.
• Superior organization and prioritization skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients and all levels of internal employees
• Self-motivation and exceptional follow-through skills are a must
• Ability to work through difficult tasks in a professional manner
• Must be able to pass a criminal and financial background screening
