Part-Time Freelance Reporter, Lifestyle/Business

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Fox News Digital Lifestyle & Business teams seek a Part-Time Freelance Reporter to produce lifestyle, personal finance, and business content for FoxNews.com and FOXBusiness.com, sourced from news sites, press releases, original sources, social media platforms, online forums and more. You will closely follow trending topics of interest with a particular focus on consumer & workplace trends, plus personal finance, retirement, money, career, or other Lifestyle/Biz topics as designated. The right individual will also be skilled at mining potential story pitches from platforms including Instagram, Facebook and X, as well as online forums including Reddit, blogs, etc.

This is not an on-air position.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor social media platforms and forums for the latest breaking or trending news items of interest to Fox News Lifestyle/Business readers.
• Produce content based on trending news items of interest to our Lifestyle readers, as directed by your editor(s).
• Work efficiently to identify, report, write and submit articles under strict deadlines.
• Research, write and contribute articles to our ongoing series as requested by your editors.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5+ years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
• Close familiarity with social media platforms and forums including Instagram, X, Facebook, Reddit, etc.
• The ability to identify trending news or viral trends impacting, or being of interest to, readers of the Fox News Lifestyle/Biz verticals.
• Background reporting & writing for Lifestyle verticals preferred
• Relevant writing experience for online publications
• Thorough knowledge of Associated Press style guide
• Excellent communication skills
• Multimedia interests preferred
• Great team play and can-do spirit

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $35.10-44.24 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
