Infrastructure & Platform Services builds and runs the technology foundation for EA's games. Our teams deliver the live services and backend infrastructure that are used to ship, scale, and operate secure, reliable game experiences for millions of players worldwide.

As a Software Engineer III, you will report to a Senior Engineering Manager. You'll join the Integrated Content team at the center of our User-Generated Experiences (UGX) technology for enriching and distributing player-driven content. You'll engage with different EADP service teams and game teams around the globe to provide outstanding innovation and performance for our upcoming top games.

This is a temporary full-time position (12-months).

Responsibilities
• You will develop dynamic, responsive, and resilient systems.
• You will design and implement automated AI workflows for self service onboarding.
• You will implement agentic workflows for improving team productivity.
• You will implement automated data migration and data back up strategies for system back up and restore.
• You will address technical debt and implement best practices to ensure long-term technical excellence across the search platform.
• You will design, implement and maintain complex systems and features end-to-end.
• You will implement security best practices including access control for ingestion and search platforms.

Qualifications:
• 6+ years of professional experience programming back-end services
• Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, or Python
• Experience implementing AI solutions and workflows.
• Proficient in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate coding, debugging, and design workflows, with an emphasis on validation, testing, and code quality.
• Hands-on experience building and orchestrating agentic AI workflows, including task decomposition, tool integration (APIs/functions), and iterative prompt engineering for reliable outcomes.
• Experience delivering and managing high traffic, high performance services
• Expertise in Search Platform technologies including OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
• Exposure to a variety of programming paradigms, including both imperative and functional programming languages
• Experience deploying and maintaining virtual infrastructure on AWS (e.g. EKS, OpenSearch, Terraform), or other cloud providers.
• Experience building CI/CD Pipelines

Bonus:
• Experience working with Flink or similar streaming platform
• Experience with AWS migration solutions like Glue, Data Sync or DMS.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$122,300 - $170,700 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

In Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
