The Challenge Ahead

Criterion Games is looking for an experienced senior QA Analyst (Technology) with technical knowledge to join our team. You will report to the QA Project Manager, you will safeguard the quality of the development toolchains and oversee the testing of technical game systems.

What a Senior Quality Analyst does at Criterion

Senior Quality Analysts are champions of best practice and new ideas in testing and driving our craft forward. You will shape testing procedures and ensure accurate execution and reporting of all testing activities by the wider QA team for their areas of ownership.

What you will do:
• As a Senior Quality Analyst (Technology) you will oversee the development toolchain and technical game systems.
• You will establish the test strategy for the development toolchain and technical game systems, ensuring accurate reporting of status and risk.
• Develop an intimate understanding of game features, underlying systems, and associated dependencies; share details and changes with the wider QA team.
• Represent QA within the development team; be visible, vocal and integrated.
• You will guide the identification and resolution of issues hindering development and QA productivity.
• Work with our remote test team to ensure high-quality service delivery for your areas of ownership.
• Utilise development tools to improve issue identification and promote defect prevention.
• Drive the implementation and maintenance of automation and telemetry.
• Interpret data to produce clear, relevant information, informing decisions to improve product quality and QA service delivery..

What you will have:
• A passion for quality.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Previous game or software development QA experience.
• Knowledge of gaming consoles and their systems.
• Programming, scripting, or database experience, such as C#, Python, JavaScript, T-SQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with test automation and telemetry systems.
• Experience with white-box/grey-box testing techniques.
• Experience in peer mentoring.
• Experience with applications such as JIRA, Confluence, DevTest, TestRail, Perforce or Git.
• Experience with data analysis and visualisation tools, such as Power Bi or Tableau.
• Experience with game engine editors, such as Frostbite, Unreal Engine, or Unity.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
