Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Quality Engineering, you will join a versatile team driving innovation for tools and services that allow us to validate the quality of the engine and improve the integration experience for our partners. We collaborate with other developers across Frostbite and game studios to ensure that our runtime and content creation workflows are performant and stable and our code meets the highest standards. We promote a data-driven culture of accessible information, learning, quality improvement and sustainable development.

Responsibilities
• You will write high-quality code and will participate in the review process for technical designs and code produced by other Software Engineers.
• You will collaborate with Software Engineers across EA to understand how to improve Frostbite game creation, including performance & memory tracking, test automation workflows, or code quality.
• You will design the required features and systems, estimate effort, identify development risks, and provide solutions.
• You will deploy tests in our CI and services in our infrastructure, ensuring they are stable, scalable and debuggable.
• You will work with Frostbite domain experts to expand your engine knowledge, and will promote our team's tools and workflows to the wider community.
• You will attend team meetings, share information, and improve documentation.
• You will contribute to the team culture of learning, collaboration and engineering sustainability, including best development practices and Agile methodologies.

Qualifications
• BSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related academic programme, or equivalent training and professional experience.
• 2+ years of experience in C#, and optionally in C++ or Python.
• Experience with object-oriented design patterns, and practices like unit testing.
• Experience with CI tooling (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), build systems or version control systems (Git, Perforce).
• Familiarity with concepts of software performance measurement and memory management.
• Debugging skills (with Visual Studio) - you enjoy finding the root-cause of issues.

Bonus if you have...
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with test automation technologies.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization, databases (SQL/NoSQL) or security.
• Experience in game or game engine development (Unreal, Unity or Frostbite).
• Experience supporting complex software or large code bases.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $63,350 - $108,550 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
