We are looking for an experienced technical delivery manager, who is passionate about the technology that powers our games. The Development Director holds it all together with a focus on people, process and planning.
You will have a key role in creating an environment that enables our highly talented engineers and teams to thrive and grow. You will continuously optimize our team and development processes, to ensure the smooth running of deliveries while building effective plans that deliver successful results.
As part of this, managing dependencies/risks/stakeholders through clear and timely communication will be core to the role.
Our Development Director will report to the Lead Development Director for Online. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options.
Responsibilities
• Plan and manage technical deliveries from software engineering team(s) incl. dependencies, critical paths, risks, etc.
• Coordinate work across multiple internal and external teams, over multiple locations/time zones/cultures.
• Actively develop team(s) towards high-performance while managing engineers directly. Comfortable with delivering constructive feedback to individuals as well as aligning career goals with day-to-day work.
• Identify and implement change initiatives across the department with focus on process improvements and successful adoption across teams.
• Lead and facilitate the Agile ceremonies for software engineering teams (e.g. sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement, etc) and drive continuous improvement of Agile development practices within team(s).
Qualifications
• 8+ years of professional experience in leading technical deliveries in complex stakeholder setups and dependency rich environments.
• Proven track record of leading on-time and at-quality deliveries from Agile development team(s).
• Change leader, comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment.
• Knows when to challenge a team and when to situationally-adapt to the needs of others.
• Seasoned in complex project planning, capacity planning, dependency and risk management incl. mitigation techniques.
• People management, career development, helping individuals grow through coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback.
• Self-starter with a focus on building trusting relationships and experienced in building high-performing software development team(s).
• Strong communicator with focus on listening to understand and effective stakeholder management.
• Have passion, energy and enthusiasm to achieve results.
