Lead Platform Engineer - Infrastructure Solutions (QIS)
Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) Engineering at EA focuses on ensuring game quality by assessing game readiness and player experience with advanced software solutions. The Quality Technology Platform (QTP) group is creating an internal platform to improve tool delivery for QVS engineering teams.
We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer for the Infrastructure Solutions (QIS) team who are focused on creating Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules and application blueprints, simplifying cloud services, making them easier for developers to use.
Reporting to the QTP Delivery Manager you will implement reusable components, and address common challenges like security and observability.
Responsibilities:
• You will lead engineers within your team, reviewing and approving code submissions to ensure correctness, maintainability, and alignment with team standards as well being the first point of escalation for technical challenges.
• You will model best practices in coding, collaboration, and communication.
• You will communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs in clear, non-technical language when needed.
• You will balance mentoring with delivery: empower the team to learn, but step in to unblock when needed.
• You will collaborate with the architect to translate high-level system designs into actionable tasks and provide clear technical direction, breaking down complex tasks into manageable work.
• You will work with the product owner to clarify requirements, provide input on technical complexity, and support realistic roadmapping.
• You will implement Infrastructure-as-Code components that the Quality Technology Platform will use as blueprints to create environments for applications running on the platform
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) tools, with a focus on reusable modules and configuration management
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, specifically Gitlab CI
• Familiar with UI and CLI development, including user journey mapping and UX principles
• 8+ years experience developing software in a corporate environment
• 5+ years experience developing and supporting scalable, secure infrastructure systems using cloud services with Terraform
• 2+ years experience integrating observability tools for medium or large organizations
• Proven experience as a software engineer with exposure to leadership or mentorship responsibilities.
• Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, SRE and CI/CD practices.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate level desired).
