Job Description
We are DICE, the award-winning studio with locations in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, best known for creating the phenomenally successful Battlefield franchise.

We are now part of a set of global studios building a connected Battlefield universe. Our people are the backbone and driving force to our creative products, and are always looking for diverse game creators to join us in Stockholm or Gothenburg, to help us build the best Battlefield experiences and make our studio the best in the industry.

A Sound Designer at DICE focuses on the creation and integration of game audio, working in close collaboration with the project audio director and other members of the audio team. The role can be very broad, touching multiple audio aspects on a single title or across all projects or can focus on a single complex feature on one project.

Responsibilities
• Understand the Audio Direction and how each piece fits into and supports a coherent soundscape.
• Create sound assets and implementations that live up to our creative and technical goals and improve on these.
• Explore new ways to record and edit audio assets.
• Test systems and assets in the game, focused on functionality, performance, optimization, uniformity and readability.
• Create, and share information about processes and best practices.
• Investigate bugs or implementation issues
• Collaborate and discuss work with colleagues.
• Participate in playtests and feedback on the experience.
• Seek out and act on feedback concerning their own work.
• Be structured; estimate work, update plans, submit good data into the branch.
• Reports to the Audio Director as their day-2-day manager.

Qualifications
• Someone with 1+ years of experience working with game audio creation, implementation or related media.
• Proficient in at least one of the current generation of industry-standard audio tools and workflows, namely; WWISE, FMOD, Unity, Unreal, or Frostbite.
• An understanding of logic-based systems, for example Unreal Blueprints, Pure Data, Max MSP, Frostbite, Reaktor, or modular synthesis
• Experience with modern audio creation equipment, software and recording techniques, proficient in at least one DAW.
• Proven artistic qualities and ability to interpret references and follow direction.
• A solid appreciation and understanding of how sound works in real-life. A sense for realism and believability, whilst being able to favor readability to support gameplay.
• Someone who contributes to a collaborative, transparent and learning culture within the team and who takes an active interest in improving themselves, the craft and the discipline
