Associate Art Director (Motion Graphics) - FIFA

We are looking for an Associate Motion Graphics Director to join our EASPORTS FIFA team at our Vancouver studio. We are keen to invest in our motion graphics direction and application and want your help!

You will be part of our Presentation, Cinematics and Rendering sub-team & will report to the Senior Art Director, directing and delivering motion graphic design for both ingame presentation and our user-interface.

What will you do?
• Partner with Creative Leadership, AD and XD Directors to establish Presentation and UI motion design direction
• Research the cultural and competitive landscape to establish meaningful opportunities
• Determine R&D/prototyping needs and align in partnership with the visual direction team.
• Develop the high-level concept direction for Presentation and UI. This might include overlay packages, wipes, AR graphics, widgets, indicators and a UI motion style guide.
• Set direction using briefs, mood boards, ripomatics, concept art, prototypes, motion demos etc.
• Contribute to an inclusive, ambitious and healthy team.
• Advocate for design excellence, craftsmanship, accessibility, and usability
• Take part in creating plans for tasks, staffing, timelines and budgets.
• Partner with tech to ensure visual direction is technically possible.
• Direct motion designers and external partners to achieve desired visual experience. Review the motion graphics in-game in partnership with other directors, producers and leads to ensure expected quality is delivered.

Your Qualifications
• You have 2 or more years experience directing motion graphics for video games.
• You are proficient in After Effects, Photoshop, and 3d tools such as Maya and Cinema 4D.
• You possess a solid understanding of motion graphics, industry trends, innovative future thinking
• You are comfortable working with internal art and design teams of 10+ people.
• You have a portfolio that demonstrates mastery motion related artistic and technical skills
• You have an excellent eye for composition and lighting, experience in 3D, experience directing motion graphics, and familiar with contemporary console rendering techniques.
• You understand the design process and what is industry best in class.
• You excel when working with developers of all disciplines.
• You have the ability to critique work and objectively communicate why something is good/not good
• You appreciate the value of working inclusively, using clear goals to measure progress and success.
