The Data & Insights (D&I) team transforms data into actionable insights that power EA. We guide strategy and governance, build data and AI solutions, and ensure personalization experimentation and analytics; partnering across teams to improve decisions and create more meaningful player experiences.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, Analytics Engineer to join us on the Skate team as an embedded partner within the Full Circle studio. You will lead data modelling, develop our semantic layer, and create self-serve insights solutions through scalable, standardized, and performant BI tools.
You will report to Skate's Director of Analytics in the D&I organization and work with analytic and product teams to build systems that scale and support fast decision-making in a live-service game.
You will also use modern engineer tools, cloud technologies, and AI as part of your workflow to create new opportunities and evolve how we work.
Main Responsibilities
• You will lead end-to-end data-modelling and transformation, building scalable, reusable systems layers to create self-serve reporting solutions to influence decisions
• You will apply AI tools to innovate workflows and oversee solutions that unify data and insights across tools (e.g. dashboards, custom web apps, Looker, Streamlit, Google Slides, Jupyter)
• You will define standards in dashboard design, data-modelling, and quality to ensure reliable high-quality analytics experiences
• You will work with partners to create the right analytics solution, and collaborate with analysts, data engineering, and architecture teams; build dashboards where needed
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in analytics, BI, or data-focused roles
• Fluent in SQL for big data (e.g. terabyte-scale), experience working in cloud data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery)
• Familiarity with data modelling, testing, and transformation at scale
• Experience with visualisation tools (e.g. Looker)
• Proficiency in end-to-end dashboard performance tuning, including concepts like caching, table structure optimization, and application of visual design best practices
• Experience and interest using AI to accelerate your work
Beneficial to Have
• Experience in the video game industry
• 2+ years working experience with Python or JavaScript
• Experience working with unstructured datasets
• Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture for relational databases, data warehouses and data lakes
• Web development experience (HTML, React)
• Looker (LookML or administration) experience
• Proficiency with git-based source control tools and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with automated deployment tools (e.g. Docker, Airflow)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$104,500 - $142,800 CAD
* Ontario *$104,500 - $134,100 CAD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
