Job Description
The marketing seasonal assistant is responsible for assisting the Event Marketing & Communications department with various tasks pertaining to marketing, media, creative services, advertising and publicity. Provides support for social media as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the implementation and ad settlement compilation of marketing campaigns events at City Theatre and Fox Theatre events
• Work with Marketing Manager and media partners to develop and execute media promotions, trades and fulfilling tickets and prizing for on-air contests
• Track media value of event trades and promotions and assist with campaign recaps
• Order creative assets for events, traffic and submit to media partners
• Assist with creative request process including, but not limited to, organizing job requests and building Trello boards (Online creative job review and trafficking system)
• Manage in-venue asset inventory and trafficking for internal signage including the Joe Louis Arena marquee, Fox Theatre LED boards; City Theatre, Joe Louis Arena and Fox Theatre posters
• Update Marketing minutes
• Compile weekly calendar of events
• Assist PR with grassroots initiatives including blogger database and promotion as well as flyer distribution locations
• Create and distribute marketing event memo
• Provide on-site support for game days and special events as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Working towards a Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Advertising or related discipline. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
• Minimum one (1) years' experience in marketing, advertising, public relations or media promotions
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
• Possess the highest integrity and ethical standards
• Understanding of marketing, advertising and public relations principles and the ability to think creatively
• Highly developed verbal, written and presentation skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Especially Excel, Word)
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry

Working Conditions:
• Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Exposure to moderate - high noise level
• Work environment temperature fluctuations
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent visual/auditory attention
