CBS News is seeking to fill a full-time EVS Playout/Ingest operator for the DC Bureau to support Face the Nation, the Evening News and other DC based programming. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of Playout/Ingest experience and the ability to work in a highly deadline-driven environment. He/she will have strong communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships and work effectively under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
• Playback highlights, sound, & edited packages for live/live to tape studio news broadcasts using EVS Clips & Playlists
• Ability to Record, Edit, and Playback with a 6 channel EVS XT(3)
• Responsible for transfers, digitizing or any other video ingest support for live and recorded broadcasts
• Storage and transfer of files using EVS xfile program
• Searching and logging video clips using EVS IP director
• Perform routing with Evertz HD router.
• Strong knowledge of File based workflow.
• Responsible for the technical quality of all phases of video operation - HD and SD signal flow.
• Interface with engineering department regarding equipment maintenance issuesPerform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3 - 5 years direct Ingest and Playout experience in a broadcast environment.
• Expert knowledge of EVS Ingest, IP Director and Playout is required
• Excellent knowledge of digital audio and video standards and equipment
• Understanding of FTP and the downloading and uploading process
• A strong understanding of Windows 10 OS
• Proficient with computers and office software
• Understanding of digital video and audio formats.
• Excellent knowledge of Vantage and Adobe Media Encoder file transcode workflows is required
• A thorough understanding of media management in a production environment is expected
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in both baseband and file based workflows
• Working flexible and occasional long hours often under tight deadline as News warrants.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with various levels of employees within the organization
• Strong multitasking and time management skills
• Bachelors or Technical degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Info systems, Media Production, or equivalent experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

*4 year college degree or trade school equivalent preferred.

3-5 years of major market television experience.Available to work various days and shifts within a 24/7 broadcast environment as News
