About the Role & Team

ABC News is looking to hire a dynamic and motivated Anchor Assistant to join the team!

What You Will Do
• Liaising with editorial and production staff across the network
• Excellent note taking for meetings and/or transcription
• Researching short and long term story ideas
• Assisting with booking for potential guests and experts
• Assisting with shoot logistics on productions
• Fielding phone calls and responding to email correspondence
• Managing calendars and facilitating scheduling obligations
• Organizing and booking extensive travel; completing expenses

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum one year of experience working in a broadcast news environment, such as a college newsroom or news station
• Strong organizational and communication skills required
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
• Must be willing to have a flexible schedule including working weekends and holidays when necessary
• Candidates are expected to perform well under pressure

Preferred Qualifications
• Confidence with social media platforms
• Strong interest in news, current events, and the editorial process

Education
• Bachelor's degree or equialnet work experience

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $48,900 to $67,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
