Job Description
WCIA/WCIX is looking for a Reporter-MMJ/Associate Producer for CiLiving. Responsibilities include writing, producing, video editing, and community outreach.

CiLiving is an hour-long live entertainment show filled with community interviews, local theatres, music, cooking, fitness segments, long form storytelling, and live shows on location.

Nexstar WCIA continues its strong history of local TV with ciLiving that launched in 2011. We seek a high energy reporter/associate producer. An individual who will enterprise reporting; stories that focus on the community. The successful candidate will write stories that are compelling in a CBS Sunday Morning style. Candidates with a college degree in broadcast journalism and reporting experience are preferred. Fluency in English. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required. Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Team player an absolute must. WCIA has a legacy of launching careers.

Reporter-MMJ/Associate producer duties include writing, producing segments/stories, shoot and edit video, and community outreach. Determines a story's emphasis, length and format, and organizes material accordingly. Reviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines. Present story schedule and live shot opportunities to the executive producer which are relevant to central Illinois. Produces and presents stories for all platforms. Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites. Writes stories for the web and other

eMedia platforms. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The MMJ must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Multimedia Journalist Reporter must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
