Job Description

Your Role:

The Senior Manager, Media Management and Post Production is responsible for managing a busy, in-house department comprising Media and Archive Management and Post Production Edit Support. The manager is the principal contact for all production partners working as part of an organisation delivering services to the international business, ensuring the department operates to the highest standards. This role will oversee the day to day management and development of the department and its staff and provide a professional contact for the production partners and includes close, effective collaboration with associated operations within the service delivery chain.

Your Accountabilities:
• Manage, lead and develop a team of 20+ people.
• Oversee, manage and develop the Media Management and Post Production department with
• responsibility for ensuring services are delivered to the highest standards.
• Establish regular communication and strong working relationships with key production partners
• within the business with a focus on future strategy and planned throughput.
• Work collaboratively with other T&O organisations i.e. Ingest, Engineering, MCR, Programming,
• Production, Sports Coords and Playout ensuring working relationships and communication are of
• the highest standards.
• Identify key development opportunities for improved workflows, system development and
• enhanced reporting. Driving forward the system and software development needs for the facility
• with the Engineering team, overseeing testing, implementation, and relevant training.
• Produce detailed metrics and reporting on facility utilisation and costs.
• Escalation point and key contact for resolution of high priority issues for the department.
• Successfully manage the relationship between the department and the wider business globally.
• Mentor and coach direct reports.
• Develop in-house talent through the provision of comprehensive technical training.
• Actively manage POs, invoices and track additional costs.
• On behalf of the department, lead projects and initiatives with focus on successful delivery of
• projects on time and within the budget.
• Manage workflow and system changes.
• Provide support to the line manager in operational and strategic decision making.
• Identify savings opportunities; promote sharing of best practice and process change opportunities
• to increase efficiency.
• Collate costs, resource and personnel requirements for Production Operations for input into the
• business planning process on request.
• Assist in the execution and implementation of new business plans, launches and initiatives.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements:
• Significant experience in media management and post production within broadcast.
• Strong leadership and team management skills demonstrating the ability to motivate, develop and
• inspire a team.
• Proven track record in managing large, successful teams, delivering to the highest standards.
• Adept at working collaboratively with other service delivery internal departments.
• Proactive in trouble-shooting, problem solving and avoidance of issues.
• Adaptable and flexible in a challenging, demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to represent the department at a high level in meetings.
• Take the lead for the department in projects and initiatives, ensuring a considered and effective
• approach is deployed, projects are delivered on time and to budget and risks and issues
• highlighted.
• Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, demonstrating strong analytical skills and
• with the capability to see the implications across the business and make informed decisions.
• Ability to prioritize and work autonomously under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Strong team player and solid interpersonal skills.
• Experience of budget and expense management
