The role of the post production team is to support the production and delivery of video content across all of Vice's platforms and lines of business. The team is responsible for providing and managing post production resources - including editors, assistant editors, archival, color and mix - for the successful delivery of broadcast and digital content on time and to the required specifications. The Scope of Assignment x You

The freelance Post Production Coordinator (Translations) role is primarily focused on the servicing of all translation and transcription needs for the News team's flagship programs Vice News Tonight and Vice (Showtime) but is also required to support other broadcast, digital and branded productions on an ad hoc basis. Chiefly the role requires coordinating with the company's internal teams and with post production leads on the scope and specifications for translation and transcription needs with a view to booking the appropriate resources to complete requests promptly, accurately and to budget. This involves seeking quotes and hiring freelance translators and transcribers - domestically and internationally, vetting them for proficiency and assisting on any technical issues. It also requires scouting, negotiating and maintaining relationships with translation and transcription companies as well. Of particular import is the meticulous organization and record keeping of all relevant materials (ie. NDAs, deliverables, legal releases) and working with the accounts payable team on the prompt processing of all invoices. Engaging with efforts to improve workflows and highlight efficiencies will also be required as needed.

Qualifications

You have these:
• Proven track record working in a post production environment
• Experience with broadcast television and/or digital video deliveries
• Experience with translation applications/technology and providing technical support when necessary
• Experience with tight deadlines
• Familiarity with invoicing, vendor and accounts payable workflows
• Established communication and organizational skills
