DIGITAL VIDEO EDITOR : NEWS
Overview

The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The news team focuses on in-depth longform storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay topical daily news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone's stuff better. VICE NEWS is seeking an experienced Video Editor for a staff position on the Global Digital Video News Team based in the U.S . The Video Editor for News will have fast turnover and scene-driven documentary experience.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to work closely with in-house production and post-production teams to complete video and multimedia projects for a variety of News programs for our website.

The ideal candidate will have a high level of finishing skills including graphics integration and audio editing. Candidates must be adaptable to edit either breaking news or story driven long-lead packages. The editing process is collaborative, involving the production team, and is script-based. You will frequently be on tight-turnarounds or faced with unexpected changes due to the nature of news.

Candidates should also be aware this is a Local 700 union, five-day week role in a fast paced work environment. Experience and interest in current affairs is highly valued.

Qualifications:
• 2-5 years of editing experience in a network news environment or with documentary series/features.
• Experience or preference to work collaboratively with producers, senior producers and executives.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Able to work creatively with archival materials.
• Able to make creative editing decisions based on written scripts or input from producers and executives.
• Able to work closely with our motion graphics team to create compelling ways to display data and animations on screen.
• Fluent in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite, including templates and project sharing.
• Experience with media asset management systems.

We'd love it if you can also:
• Create basic graphics in After Effects and Photoshop.
• Shoot on an FS7 (or equivalent)
• Speak a second language
