Universal Music Publishing Group is looking to appoint an Assistant to A&R Manager supporting the A&R Manager and VP Creative in all general administrative tasks relative to the A&R department.

YOUR ROLE
• Responsibilities include acting as the first point of contact for the A&R team;
• Conducting general administrative tasks relative to the A&R department
• Taking Notes and writing minutes during meetings, Preparing communications on behalf of manager
• Conducting and preparing any research that the reporting manager may require
• Managing studio diary and organizing meetings and appointments;
• Dealing with correspondence and phone calls, collecting visitors from reception
• Helping scout new bands/artists/writers, attending shows, opening and take-down of The Writers Block Studio, general assistance to the writers in the studio.
• Keeping all social media accounts up to date, posting regularly, publishing news stories on the website;
• Preparing A&R payments for the finance department.
• Identify new writers with global potential by keeping up to date with music trends around the world.
• Develop, nurture and maintain relationships with writers, lawyers, artists, managers, lawyers, bookers etc., both locally and internationally.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• A thorough knowledge of the mechanics of the Australian and international music industry.
• Good knowledge and understanding of music production and working knowledge of music production software (Logic, Pro-tools, Ableton)
• Good knowledge of studio equipment
• Good knowledge of social media apps
• Understanding of legal concepts and relevant elements of contract law.
• Working knowledge of basic video editing programs and Adobe Photoshop
• Ability to build credibility with songwriters and fostering strong relationships with songwriters and management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required when communicating both internally and externally.
