Security Operations Lead

Job Description

We are looking for an innovative Security Operations Lead to own our security engineering and operations programs to protect our brand and enable our people to do their best work. You will be a key contributor across ALL aspects of our security program and drive our strategies to set the highest standard of security for our cloud-first enterprise.

What You Will Do
• Set and implement your vision for security architecture, engineering, and operations and help decide what security issues the organization should prioritize
• Develop and execute all critical security strategies for a cloud-first environment including zero trust, automation, policy, and general risk reduction while balancing the goals of the business
• Prepare the company to rapidly detect, protect, and mitigate potential security incidents
• Provide functional and strategic leadership by mentoring security analysts/engineers, setting technical direction and priorities for the team
• Own the entire security toolset to ensure effective visibility, proper configuration, and tuning of defensive controls based on real-world threats
• Operationalize our security infrastructure through automation, runbook creation, remediation tracking, and efficacy measurement
• Identify gaps in processes or tooling and implement actionable improvements in technology, policy, governance
• Evaluate and select new technologies, tools, and vendors to help drive our continual improvement
• As situations require, lead incident triage and response activities
• Develop security policies, procedures, guidelines and standards that are in line with the business
• Scale security efforts by influencing and empowering teams with the right guidance, automated guard rails, technical protections, and training

What You Will Need
• 6+ years relevant security experience and a deep understanding of core information security principles and how those translate to real life
• Deep knowledge of technology and processes used in modern security stacks and security operations
• Expertise in security operations but also breadth of knowledge across multiple Information Security domains and depth in a few such as identity management, zero trust concepts, vulnerability management, incident response, endpoint protection, data protection, offensive/proactive testing, automation and orchestration, network and cloud infrastructure architecture, web application security, secure software development and deployment (CI/CD, DevSecOps), etc
• Experience in developing and implementing security tools and managing infrastructure
• Desire to seek out process improvement opportunities through automation and orchestration
• Hands-on experience commanding and conducting security investigations
• Experience running, growing, or scaling lean security or engineering teams
• Experience with remediation strategies, system hardening, vulnerability management
• Broad exposure to common enterprise Information Technologies including identity and access management, Active Directory/Azure AD, Exchange, Office 365, device/asset management, network and cloud infrastructure, application development environments
• Experience providing excellent customer service
• Aspiration to continuously improve and learn from mistakes
• Great communication, prioritization, and people and project management skills
• Strong scripting skills in language of your choice (e.g. Powershell, Python, bash, Go, etc) is desirable
• Understanding of industry frameworks, standards, benchmarks and best practices (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, MCSS, PCI-DSS, etc)
• Familiarity with data privacy and legal considerations
• Relevant certification: CISSP, GIAC, CISM, or similar in a nice to have
