Job Description
On being a Videographer/Editor at Ubisoft Toronto
Working directly with our Video Lead and Creative Services team, the successful candidate is a strong visual communicator and excellent storyteller who wants to be part of a creative, dynamic, and innovative environment at Ubisoft. You will have the creative prowess to bring life to a brief as vague as a reference point, as well as the confidence to enact the proposed structure of a detailed, timecoded script.
As a collaborator with both studio and game development teams, your shooting and editing will come together as videos for a variety of platforms, including the Canadian studios' websites, social media and livestreams channels, the Ubisoft intranet, and more.
The daily life of a Videographer/Editor at Ubisoft Toronto
• Demonstrate a creative approach to storytelling through an edit.
• Liaise with various subject-matter experts to distill complex topics into compelling content opportunities.
• Lead and execute video shoots with a keen eye for composition.
• Be a partner to our communications, studio, production, and project teams in the successful development and execution of quality content.
• Contribute creative solutions to partners' projects and/or implement suggestions from others.
• Ensure Ubisoft and/or brand-specific style guide requirements are met for all videos
• Act on feedback from various and multiple stakeholders as needed.
• Organize and archive footage across multiple sources for future projects.
• Learn on the job while staying on top of the latest trends and techniques for video production.
• Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
What it takes to make it
• 3+ years of professional editing and videography experience.
• Demonstrated editing and shooting experience via portfolio.
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere.
• A solid understanding of motion graphics fundamentals and the ability to create or manipulate projects in After Effects.
• The ability to independently setup a 1- or 2-camera shoot with optimal lighting and audio in a variety of settings.
• Proficient with DSLR camera workflows.
• Open to direction, accepts feedback, and acts on it.
• Able to work independently in both office and work from home environments.
• Demonstrate creativity, originality, and resourcefulness when searching for solutions.
• Brings a positive attitude and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
