Job Description

As a Data Developer within the Technology Group - Quality Foundation of Ubisoft Quebec, you will be part of a new team, Quality Reporting & Intelligence. The mandate of this team is to provide strategic information on the quality and efficiency of game productions.

You will be responsible for delivering data pipelines that support predictive models used in defect prevention, performance optimization and productivity improvement of various game production teams as well as key indicators on production stability and performance. In addition, you will be accountable for the accessibility and integrity of required data sets.

What you will do
• Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of data transport processes required by the various instances requiring the data (data scientist, game producer, management, etc.);
• Perform data transformation operations;
• Lead data architecture initiatives to ensure the maintenance of reliable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data;
• Ensure the transition between the pipeline and the data model;
• Monitor and track data quality (reliability, consistency, integrity) and data flow dynamics;
• Perform performance monitoring and reporting to make necessary adjustments to the infrastructure;
• Contribute to a wide range of projects related to the implementation of current and new systems, solutions and processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• An undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent;
• Strong industry experience working with data, programming, and data pipeline design;
• Hands-on experience in megadata development and NoSQL and SQL data modeling;
• The ability to develop processes around data flow concepts and architectures;
• The ability to extract, transform and load data to and from systems;
• The ability to ensure data integrity throughout the data lifecycle, configure, use and develop data management systems;
• The ability to implement a data pipeline or megadata architecture;
• Experience with ETL management tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt, Talend, Pentaho);
• Experience with megadata technologies (Apache Spark, Hadoop, Trino, Apache Flink, Kafka, etc.);
• Excellent interpersonal, creative thinking and problem solving skills;
• A collaborative and strategic value-driven mindset.

Assets
• Experience with megadata systems administration and NoSQL and SQL databases;
• Experience with public cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP);
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes;
• Experience with NoSQL and SQL database systems such as MySQL, ScyllaDB, Hive, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server, etc;
• Experience with data pipeline observability;
• A basic understanding of machine learning;
• A good knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Kanban, Scrum).
