KTVB is Idaho's most-watched and highest-rated news station. We are looking for a dynamic weekend anchor and enterprising reporter! The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to one of the best storytelling stations in the country. We are searching for someone who understands that anchoring isn't just about reading scripts and reporting isn't just about covering news conferences. Our ideal candidate must display strong journalistic skills in writing, interviewing, and ethical decision-making. They must also be curious, ambitious, and work well in a team environment. KTVB is a station built on serving our community, and we are seeking a dynamic personality who will consistently energize and inform our audience across all platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Produce and anchor several weekend newscasts
• Take a leadership role in the broadcasts by planning, participating in content creation, and helping organize available news crews
• Contribute content and stories 3-4 days a week as a general assignment reporter
• Establish sources, utilize social listening skills, cover breaking news, and pitch unique enterprise ideas
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms including KTVB-branded social media accounts
• Fill-in on the anchor desk for other shows and during special coverage
• Participate in community partnerships and events as well as promotional appearances as requested
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-4 years of previous reporting, anchoring or fill-in anchoring required
• Must be able to write conversationally and deliver news in an engaging, exciting and accurate manner
• Must be able to produce a compelling newscast with the latest information utilizing organizational skills and the ability to work under constant deadlines
• Strong social media skills including an active news hound presence and keen eye toward what's trending locally and nationally trending topics
• Ability to shoot and edit using non-linear editing systems
• Ability to adapt schedule
• A portfolio with current examples of strong breaking, general and feature news reporting
