Under the general supervision of the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Specialist has the responsibility to process and reconcile the monthly billing according to the company guidelines and maintain the data accuracy and records management function related to the different systems used by the company for the successful delivery of all domestic benefit plans.
• Process data accuracy for HRIS files sent to Telus Health and answer questions about enrolments, changes of employment contract status and terminations
• Verify Telus weekly benefits premiums remittance files
• Perform Benefits Plan Billing reconciliation
• Audit demographics data for pension enrolments, changes and terminations and send it to Sunlife.
• Ensure participants' contributions for retirement are updated in the payroll system
• Submit group benefits payment request on Service Now; follow up with Account Payable and carrier and upload the contributions files in the carrier platform (Sunlife)
• Process on time all the employees' enrollments for the inpat plan, changes and terminations on the carrier site.
• Check employees' eligibility to inpatriate plans according to their immigration situation (from the implied status report).
• Calculate bi-weekly benefits deductions for all the leaves of absence
• Provide employee notification to Sunlife of the new STD/LTD cases.
• Provide HR with timely updates on STD/LTD return-to-work cases
• Responsible for the notification of the death process between the retirees and Sunlife
• Participate in Special projects
• Provide benefits data and reports upon request
Qualifications
• DEC required
• Proven experience in benefits administration
• Bilingual (English and french)
• Strong organizational skills and sense of priorities
• Proficiency in MS Office products
• Microsoft Excel skills; including the ability to create spreadsheets
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and work in tight deadlines
