Job Description
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a creative, organized and music-savvy professional to join the RaysVision team as an In-Game DJ/Music Coordinator. This role is responsible for shaping the ballpark soundtrack and enhancing the fan experience through timely, energetic, and strategic music and sound effect selection.Primary Responsibilities:
• Select, cue, and play music, sound effects and crowd prompts for Tampa Bay Rays home games at Tropicana Field. This includes batting practice, pre-game, in-game, between innings and postgame.
• Amplify the in-game entertainment experience by strategically aligning music with game flow, crowd energy, and on-field action.
Other duties will include:
• Update, organize and maintain the organization's music library.
• Stay current with music trends, new releases, crowd-favorite tracks, while adapting to baseball moments and fan reactions in real time.
• Balancing the music presentation across genres while understanding the nuances of baseball's historic and evolving culture.
• Log, update, edit and manage player walk-up music
• Curate and implement custom playlists for different weekdays, theme nights, and holidays as approved by the organization.
• Assist in operating audio mixer with varying music, video and microphone levels.
• Review scripts and attend pre-production meeting prior to games to align music and sound objectives with all scripted elements.
• Provide audio support for select external events and non-game events as assigned.
Qualifications
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of personal accountability.
• Knowledge of baseball is imperative, and knowledge of the Tampa Bay Rays is preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly to live game situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Must demonstrate advanced working knowledge of live audio production.
• Team-first attitude with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiar with a standard audio mixing board and audio mixing/control software (7 Point Audio, Sports Sounds Pro, Serato, Virtual DJ)
• Proficiency in editing music and audio files using industry-standard software (Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, etc.).
Education and Other Requirements
• Degree and/or previous experience with audio and music management for live events.
• Prior experience with live sporting events and/or control room operations is a plus.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays and select external events
• Ability to work the entire event including pre- and post-game activities
• Knowledge of MLB rules and strong understanding of baseball
• Works well in fast-paced/live event, high pressure situations
• Adhere to Rays Organization Policies and Procedures
• Must have reliable transportation and live in the Tampa Bay area
