Job Description
Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture-from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse.
Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum. We operate at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, executing seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether we are navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core.
You may notice our digital presence is purposefully understated. While our clients are global household names, we believe the best work happens with the spotlight stays firmly on those we represent. We fly under the radar by design - preferring to let our campaigns, and our results, speak for themselves.
If you're driven, intentional, and ready to do good, we're ready for you!
Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis has an immediate opening for a strategic, high-performing Account Director to join our Entertainment & Talent team. This role is for a seasoned PR powerhouse with 8+ years of experience who is a master of personal representation and thrives in the high-stakes world of film, TV, and music.
As an Account Director, you are the architect of your clients' careers. You don't just manage press; you lead national campaigns that touch every facet of a talent's life-from their core entertainment projects to their philanthropic and business ventures. You are a self-starter who can lead a team with total autonomy, maintaining the discretion required for the inner circle while driving the integrated strategies that keep our clients at the center of the cultural conversation.
The Role:
• Holistic Talent Leadership: Lead account teams in developing and executing 360-degree communications strategies for high-profile talent. You move beyond traditional publicity to incorporate brand integration, influencer strategy, and digital innovation into every campaign.
• Strategic Client Counsel: Serve as a trusted advisor to talent and their management teams. You provide unprompted fresh ideas, manage complex client issues, and navigate stressful situations with thoughtful, calm counsel.
• Media Authority: Leverage an elite network of contacts at Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and beyond. You are a strategist who still pitches, knowing how to land a career-defining feature or manage a chaotic press line at a major premiere.
• Project & Account Management: Lead accounts from start to finish, ensuring goals are met with military precision. You manage the backend of a full roster of clients (average 4–6) while ensuring every request is handled efficiently.
• Integrated Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership and bi-coastal teams to execute complex accounts. You are excited by the intersection of tech, lifestyle, and entertainment and know how to bridge those worlds for your clients.
• Mentorship & Team Growth: Train and mentor junior staff on the inner workings of talent PR and professional execution. You are a career-builder who takes pride in motivating your team and fostering a ''we, not me'' culture.
• Business Development: Identify organic growth opportunities within your roster and lead the creation of sophisticated new business proposals.
• The Relationship Standard: You understand that we are a people business. You lead by example in how you treat your co-workers, clients, and the media-prioritizing trust, integrity, and total confidentiality above all else.
Who You Are:
• The Industry Veteran: 8+ years of experience in an agency or entertainment setting, with at least 2 years of direct people management. You have a proven track record of securing placements that move the needle for a talent's career.
• High EQ: You possess an elite level of situational awareness. You have the executive presence to command a room and the judgment to know when to take a step back, maintaining total composure around high-profile individuals.
• A Culturally Fluent Strategist: Your media diet is diverse and constant. You understand the nuances of the entertainment landscape and how digital strategy and brand partnerships humanize talent in 2026.
• An Exceptional Communicator: You are a fast, persuasive writer and a verbal storyteller who can build deep trust with clients and media alike.
• Highly Organized & Scrappy: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and take genuine pride in ''ver-delivering on every project.
• Flexible: Ready to work select evenings/weekends and travel to bring our clients' biggest moments to life.
