Seasonal Festival Manager, Health & Safety Compliance

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Festival Manager, Health and Safety Compliance manages all COVID-19 compliance efforts to ensure the health, safety, and wellness of our employees and volunteers working during the Sundance Film Festival. The Health and Safety Compliance Manager serves as the main link between Human Resources (HR), Health Safety Operations, and Sundance Institute’s employees and volunteers. Working closely under the direction of the Producing Director, Sundance Institute and the Director, Human Resources, their focus is to ensure clear and open lines of communication, make recommendations, advocate for and implement measures to support employee health, safety, and wellness.

This full-time seasonal position is based out of our Park City, Utah office from Monday, November 29, 2021 through Friday, March 4, 2022 with regular opportunities to work from home. This role is required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet deadlines and to respond to on-call needs as assigned.

Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Disseminating timely information and news such as policy changes, benefit updates, training requirements related to Health, Safety, and Wellness to employees and volunteers.
• Promptly communicating HR and Health, Safety, and Wellness information to leaders, managers, as it is generally time-sensitive information.
• Establishing open lines of communication with employees and volunteer coordinators as their point of contact to raise concerns, gather feedback, identify gaps in processes and communications and recommend plans to correct to Producing Director, HR, and department heads.
• Developing and executing protocols to ensure timely communication of staff and volunteer COVID-19 exposures and provide affected individuals clear directions regarding quarantining and testing.
• Developing and executing protocols following staff or volunteer positive test results including; facilitate collection of information necessary for contact tracing, act as positive individual’s liaison to support lodging and travel arrangements, ensure the affected individual has adequate medical, hygiene, and food supplies for quarantining.
• Liaising with HR and Operations to notify managers of staffing contingency plans when team members are quarantined.
• Collaborating with Health Safety, Operations, and HR establish safety practices for employee and volunteer check-in.
• Coordinating and facilitating required training associated with employee and volunteer health, safety, and wellness.
• Attending all health safety, covid stakeholder, and related meetings to raise employee and volunteer concerns, identify topics to be communicated and addressed, provide timeline updates, and draft communications.
• Collaborating with HR to ensure all employee and volunteer onboarding is communicating effectively and accurate health safety information and protocols.
• Raising concerns specific to compliance with health and safety (COVID-19 protocols) with HR to address immediately and launch investigations to ensure timely resolution.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 3 years experience in managing employee health, safety, and wellness programs, internal communications, employee advocacy, or related.
• Strong written and interpersonal skills to build relationships with employees at all levels while working across the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues that do not always have a process or a system in place.
• Ability to position themself as credible (garners respect, acts with integrity, keeps commitments); proactive (has a point of view, challenges assumptions, takes initiative); and trusted (builds relationships, delivers results).
• Demonstrated experience and ability to balance business partnering skills with employee advocacy.
• Ability to work independently, balancing the need for collaboration with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills.

• Provide accurate and timely communications to staff and volunteers on COVID-19 processes, procedures, and timelines.
• Conduct thorough tracking and directions to employee and volunteer positive cases to ensure adherence to all procedures.
• Streamline the flow of information to the Health Safety and HR teams.
• Connect with employees and volunteers to gather feedback, concerns, suggestions on health and safety issues providing updates to Health Safety and HR Teams.
