Job Description
Spotify is seeking an outstanding Category Development Officer for the Tech & Telco vertical to be based out of SF, LA or NY. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the challenges of the industry, preferably through a mix of experiences including Mobile and Cloud/Platform brands.

You will be able to identify consumer trends that Spotify Advertising can address. You have experience in managing a global category in terms of strategy, action planning and revenue performance. You build a close partnership with the sales leaders and you will develop a close working relationship with cross-functional teams including business marketing, product development and AdSci (Research, Insights and Measurement) to ideate, deliver or support category-specific solutions at scale. You thrive on innovation and developing go-to-market strategies that our verticalized sales teams can action to meet client needs. You are the narrator of Spotify's broad solutions for the category and the voice of Spotify to the industry, providing thought-leadership and high-touch (senior) client engagement.

Define how Spotify Advertising creates real value for your industry, enable our sales teams to reach their full potential and be the voice of the category internally and externally. This role is part of the Advertising Business within Spotify, our fast growing business unit focussed on platform monetization through brand partnerships.

Your core KPIs include driving net new revenue growth for Spotify, improving the category's revenue health and growing Spotify's impact within the category's advertising base. You will be executing on your O/KR (Objectives and Key Results) as an important measure of success. You have a good network in the industry within brand and marketing teams and you enjoy speaking at events, panels and industry gatherings.

What You'll Do:
• Influence buyer behaviors across Spotify's global client base within the category.
• Define Spotify's strategic approach to the category with a focus on subcategory nuances.
• Describe category trends and implications and translate this into concrete plans that help you steer sales (leadership) - but also Product and Marketing - in the right direction.
• Maintain Spotify's category narrative in partnership with marketing teams and find new areas of focus throughout the year.
• Align with product marketing and measurement teams to build scalable product solutions.
• Provide strategic client engagement and industry thought-leadership.
• Understand global category needs and refine regional strategy as needed.
• Be the voice of Spotify category expertise at key client events and industry speaking engagements.
• Provide leadership and direction for the category largest partnerships.

Who You Are:
• A min of 10+ years of direct, (global) experience working in the category's advertising and marketing space, leading and designing strategy and driving measurable results.
• Deep domain expertise, working in or with category leaders.
• A collaborator who has expertly navigated complex, matrixed organizations, demonstrating their ability to influence others and build trust.
• Strong analytical skills, with a forensic understanding of industry data and the ability to translate it to actions Spotify Advertising clients should take.
• Strong executive presence with decision makers and C-level executives, inside and outside of Spotify.
• Proven track record in finding 'pockets of growth' and translating them to revenue plans.
• Comfortable building alliances and collaborations without owning the direct reporting line.
• Engaging speaker and storyteller.

The United States base range for this position is $ 171,120 - 215,150, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Salary Details
Salary Range: $171,120 to $215,150 Per Year ($ USD)
