Who are we hiring?
Sphere Studios are seeking a TD to usher the development and success of next-gen workflows and toolkits for ultra-high-resolution imaging and post production pipelines. Sphere Studios is in the process of evolving new imaging processes and workflows. The Workflow TD is a vital piece to making sure our image quality and processing systems are optimized and held to the highest standard. This role reports in-person to the Sr. Workflow Supervisor in Burbank, California. The Workflow TD will work closely with the capture system teams, production, editorial, visual effects artists, pipeline developers, finishing and venue playback teams in testing and deploying new features, maintaining accuracy in image formats, defining and maintaining workflows and color standards.
What will you do?
• Collaborate on image processing software optimization.
• Maintain and evolve next-gen color science, image formats and data organization workflows.
• Collect user feedback to drive workflow efficiency and toolset feature prioritization.
• Create repeatable test modalities for efficient and scalable workflows.
• Write and maintain documentation on spec, workflow, requirements and best practices
• Train internal users and external vendors on best practices.
• Workflow prototyping, testing & development.
• Be a custodian of quality and efficiency to provide the best experiences for our teams, partners and audiences.
What do you need to s/ucceed?
• 7+ years in post-production roles such as Compositing, Finishing, Systems and/or Workflow
• Experience in Color Science management
• Experience in Stereoscopic, VR, Large Format, Dome or other immersive content.
• Experience with IO, QC and Deliverables pipelines for image finalization.
• Strong communicator with the ability to reduce complex ideas related to post production and imaging processes for vendors and artists.
• Strong understanding of video encoding processes and codecs.
• Builds trust quickly, effortlessly works on deadline-driven, strong care and attention to detail.
• Deep sense of responsibility for image quality control, excellent note-taking, ability to distribute and relay information quickly with ease to large teams.
• Experienced in Post Production software and tools - Nuke, Baselight, Resolve, Adobe products, Shotgrid, RV, Deadline, OCIO, OIIO, FFMPEG.
• Experience writing Python a plus.
Special Requirements
• On-Site in Burbank, CA.
• Occasional travel.
Pay Range
$96,000 - $160,000 USD
