Sphere Quality Assurance (QA) Summer 2025 Student Associate (Burbank, CA)
Who are we hiring?
As the Quality Assurance (QA) Tester Student Associate for MSG (Madison Square Garden) Ventures' Interactive Team, you will have the opportunity to learn and work with cutting edge technology and get a glimpse to the future of entertainment. You'll work alongside the talented Interactive team and execute tests for applications, games and tools while assuring high quality releases for mobile, PC, VR/AR platforms and ultimately the Sphere venue platform. This role will work most closely with QA team members and report directly to the QA Lead.
What will you do?
• Collaborate with Product, Development, and QA team members to test new features and content for PC, mobile and VR/AR applications.
• Meticulously record test results using Test Rail's test case management tool.
• Write detailed bug reports using Jira and track in-progress tickets from creation to ''Done.''
• Be part of the testing process in a software development cycle. You'll have an opportunity to learn what goes into Test Planning as well as exploring and executing tests for an exciting new platform and playtest it in our new and exciting test facility!
• While the role is a hybrid role, it is expected for the QA personnel to be available most days of the week especially on team, internal and external testing days.
What you need to succeed:
• Have some experiencing or high interest in testing games, apps, and tools for iOS, Android, VR/AR, PC platforms. A plus if you have tested console games.
• Utilized or familiar with bug tracking software like Jira and Test Case management programs like Test Rail.
• Great oral, written and listening skills and time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• A willingness to learn with great curiosity.
• A person that is passionate about the field and position that not only works great alone but strives as a team player!
Bonus Points:
• Experience with Agile-Scrum methodology.
• Written Test Plans and Test Cases from small features to new app / tool development against different sets of devices, browsers, hardware, and operating systems.
• Have experience in school-led or individual-led app or video game projects.
• Additional games development skills and interests (game engineering, production, game design, game art, graphic design) a definite plus, including familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Unity, Unreal and other common games industry software.
STUDENT ASSOCIATE REQUIREMENTS:
• Undergraduate candidates with a class status of junior or above or graduate candidates.
• GPA of 3.2 or above
• Provide a letter from your school verifying enrollment.
• Available to work a minimum of 21-hour week and a maximum of 35-hour work week (35 hours required for the summer semester).
