SVP, DCFO, Corporate and Central Functions

The divisional finance department for Sony Pictures Entertainment keeps the SPE Corporate divisional executives appraised of all finance related matters for their group(s), primarily ensuring that a strong financial discipline and analysis is in place to support the divisions in achieving their goals and objectives. The team has responsibility for delivering analysis and decision support to the groups including management reporting for the division including budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, etc., along with portfolio management.

The successful candidate for the SVP Finance role based in Los Angeles will be responsible for providing all forms of financial analysis and support, as well as leading a team of professionals and interacting with colleagues and advisors globally.

This individual will have the following core responsibilities:
• Report directly to Executive Vice President, Group Divisional Chief Financial Officer, partner with C-Suite- level corporate department heads, and manage a team of professionals
• Fulfill all financial needs and support tactical and strategic analysis with direct interaction and support of the divisional leaders
• In collaboration with management define financial targets and goals
• Lead the annual budget and mid-range planning exercises including collaboration with the divisional leaders
• Implement and maintain timely and dynamic reports to support management in executing financial goals on a local, regional and global basis
• Provide management with analysis of financial results shortly after monthly, quarterly and year-end close, including an analysis of budget/forecast to actual results, trend analysis or other important insights
• Oversee the greenlighting, tracking and reporting of project costs including cost-benefit analysis
• Take a leadership role in continuous improvement of processes resulting in increased efficiency and/or effectiveness including a FP&A efficiency project underway
• Support and ensure necessary adoption, implementation and maintenance of Sony or SPE policies or processes
• Function as part of the business's senior management team while maintaining appropriate financial advisory perspective and independence
• Work effectively with employees, at all levels, across the business including the ability to persuade non-reporting colleagues to timely provide information necessary for the success of the business and department goals
• Travel as required globally
• Lead and motivate a team of professionals
• Act as an ambassador for Sony and always conduct self with honesty and integrity

Candidate Requirements:

First and foremost, an exceptional individual with strong critical thinking, problem solving/analytical assessment, decision making, and team leadership skills. Also possess humility, honesty and assertiveness. Ideally has significant experience in a financial role supporting business units or large departments.

More specifically you should meet many of, if not all, the following requirements:
• A strong leader who can develop and motivate a highly competent team of finance professionals and work effectively with offshore providers
• 15+ years financial experience and familiarity with IT, HR, Facilities and other Corporate departments
• The highest standard in influencing, partnering and interpersonal skills, to build and develop strong company relationships with C-Suite SPE Executives
• Strong aptitude for proactive problem solving, analytics, process/project management and controls
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail with a strong analytical background achieving quality results
• Demonstrable quantitative and financial projection skills
• A mature, personable, charismatic and professional individual who has the temperament and demeanor that is a fit with the company's culture - a team player
• SAP, Essbase and Apptio knowledge preferred
• Experience with outsourced providers preferred
• Strong MS Excel skills required
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management
• BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required
• CPA (or equivalent) and/or MBA preferred

The anticipated base salary for this position is $278,000 to $348,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position
