Sales Manager, Theatrical (Maternity Cover)

Overview:

Sales manager with relevant theatrical experience required to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave.

This role entails managing the distribution of SPRI titles and acquisitions across EMEA licensee markets. Essential tasks include forecasting future box office potential and performing pre/post release analysis to inform strategy whilst maintaining close contact with other lines of business.

The EMEA team look after 30+ markets of varying sizes, so the candidate must be comfortable working with individuals from other countries, cultures, and time zones, as well as having an understanding of the different business conditions within each market. Regular tasks will involve monitoring data input by licensees, running/interpreting reports as well as performing regular audits to ensure accuracy. Setting release dates is an important task, so having an understanding of the competitive landscape in each market is important. Tracking relevant developments in each market to aid with distribution strategy and analysis is also key. The manager may be asked to assess the potential in a project from marketing materials/pitch deck/script/as well as screening the film itself, therefore discretion is absolutely essential.

What you will be working on:

A significant task will be close liaison with the CDMG group to help coordinate the mastering and distribution of localised content based on release schedule, which will include attending weekly meetings as well as having accurate oversight of the pre-release planning schedule/release schedule and being able to communicate developments in the schedule. The manager will be expected to approve mastering and distribution of content in line with release schedules, as well as providing feedback on the schedule as it pertains to distribution costs.

The manager should also be a point of contact for any technical issues, i.e. aiding colleagues with logins/I.T. problems and working with GSD to solve them. Often new hires will need training up on relevant software and this is something the manager will help coordinate as well as troubleshoot any reporting queries.

Record keeping is also very important; not just tracking contact information for licensees etc., but ensuring we have org/staffing charts for licensees, that we have up-to-date records on (including but not limited to) 3D glasses policy, intermission policy, censorship procedure. From time to time the manager will need to coordinate surveys/data collection in a timely fashion. There will of course be ad-hoc administrative tasks like booking travel/taxis/meeting rooms/couriers as well as being responsible for digital file management. The manager will also have to assist with the licensee contract workflow, potentially using compliance software to perform diligence as well as ensuring safe signature/delivery of executed agreements.

Key duties
• Overseeing theatrical release strategy for EMEA on all SPRI releases.
• Monitoring data input from licensees.
• Liaising with various SPE teams both in the UK and abroad on matters ranging from finance, contracts, mastering & distribution.
• Daily contact with licensees across EMEA to provide support on a range of film-related matters.
• Support department with ad-hoc administrative tasks such as minute-taking, booking meetings, conference coordination, organizing couriers and stationery orders.
• Working with technical support on any access matters or technical problems.

What we need from you:
• Typically five years sales experience in the theatrical distribution industry
• Sound knowledge of MS Office essential, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Experience of using data-reporting software or confidence in using such systems very important.
• Confidence and/or experience working across different time zones and cultures
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Data collection and analysis skills
• Attention to detail needed
• Must be able to work in timely and accurate manner
• Team player but with initiative to work solo if need be.
• Confidence in interaction with senior executives
• Knowledge of downstream platforms is a bonus.
• Discretion and sensitivity regarding confidential material is essential.
