Manager, TVOD Digital Distribution – Strategy

Role:

The Manager, Digital Distribution will work with the Executive Director, Digital Distribution to drive transactional digital film and television revenue (TVOD or EST/VOD) through Amazon and Google, while independently driving revenue through AMC On Demand. The Manager serves as an expert on retailer strategies and priorities while representing the interests and perspective of SPE's digital business. The Manager will work with internal cross-functional teams to plan and execute retail activations through the complete home entertainment lifecycle of film and TV product (new release and catalog), and collaborate internally to promote growth in all segments of Sony Pictures Distribution.

Responsibilities:

Manage the AMC On Demand P&L, and work with the Executive Director, Digital Account Management on managing Amazon and Google with a focus on maximizing both TVOD gross profit and Sony Pictures Distribution gross profit overall.

Provide input into annual goals and KPIs for performance management both internally and externally

Monitor key title and catalog goals to provide guidance and assess performance

Monitor compliance on agreed pricing and deal terms, and troubleshoot as needed

Plan and execute new release strategies with internal cross-functional teams

Study account strategies and priorities through consistent account interaction and research, and incorporate learnings into internal strategies

Plan new release activations with the Retail Marketing team

Negotiate levels of support with retailers

Coordinate with internal support teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and flawless execution of new release plans

Manage catalog promotions for each account
Optimize catalog revenue through short-term promotional activity and long-term strategy

Assess strengths, weaknesses, and respective strategies of each account

Maintain a calendar for planning and reporting

Recommend title selection and pricing on regular promotions

Negotiate levels of support with retailers

Conceptualize and execute innovative customer activations and special initiatives (e.g. 3rd party partnerships) to stimulate customer acquisition and retention

Ensure operational efficiency with support teams internally and externally

Review post-mortems to gain insights and improve on-going strategy

Monitor and correct steady-state new release and catalog pricing discrepancies to maintain optimal pricing

Represent the interests and perspective of SPE's digital business, both internally and externally, and be an expert on the perspective of SPE's retail partners

Maintain an up-to-date awareness of market trends across the entire entertainment ecosystem

Develop a thorough knowledge of customer strategies, priorities, and financial performance

Retain a full understanding of SPE's strategies and tactics in TVOD (product, marketing, pricing, etc.)

Craft presentations for internal-facing and customer-facing meetings Provide analytical support on an ad-hoc basis

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required
• MBA preferred
• 6+ years working in entertainment, digital media, consumer goods, strategic planning or management consulting
• Experience in customer facing situations or retail environment
• Demonstrable knowledge and interest in the digital media landscape and technology
• Passion for film and television content
• Familiarity with entertainment business models
• Understanding of general marketing strategy required
• Knowledge in finance and economics a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Exceptional facility with PowerPoint
• Comfortable and adept in negotiations
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management
• Excellent communication skills, including presentation development and delivery
