Manager, Transactional Distribution - Greater China

To be based in either our Hong Kong or Beijing offices, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as Manager for Transaction Distribution across Greater China!

As a member of China Distribution and Marketing team, this role will report to the Director, Account Management and Marketing, Greater China, based in Beijing and functionally belonging to the Regional Distribution team. The key areas of responsibility for this role will include:

Transactional Distribution:
• Contribute to meet or exceed annual revenue and GP goals for transactional digital rights with assigned clients/territories
• Negotiate best-in-class placement across all transactional clients' platforms, ideate and execute any and all on the store promotion
• Input to budgeting and forecasting for actual transactional revenue during the SPT budget cycle
• Manage client-facing relations focused on transactional programming, marketing and operations, manage weekly or bi-weekly face-to-face or video calls with said contacts
• Create comprehensive Go-To-Market plans in conjunction with sales, marketing and operations team of our priority movie titles to EST (Early Sell Through) and VOD (View On Demand) clients.
• Understand client goals and develop effective growth strategies to achieve those goals, be the expert of clients strategies and priorities
• Provide input to commercial terms and transactional deals/deal renewals for transactional digital clients, ensure client compliance of agreed deal terms
• Improve SPE market position in transactional relative to our competitors
• Be intimately familiar with the client's user interface and user experience
• Manage TVOD (Transactional View On Demand) and EST-deemed pricing and pricing strategy
• Drive SKU strategy for key releases, bundles and other variations to secure incremental placement and higher deemed price
• Initiate EST pre-orders on select clients to assist in conversion from theatrical awareness
• Manage digital operations and be the key CAM liaison for respective territories, ensuring titles go live on time
• Ensure optimal title count is live for transactional revenue growth
• Be focused monthly on promotions to drive library revenue, create a calendar of promotions and activations across the FY and select titles for said promotions
• Manage store checks for SPE titles, monitor competitor windows and pricing and retain that data for future reference
• Select optimal key art for respective clients and territories
• Manage and leverage rebates/discounts/coupons and other sales incentives where relevant, propose incentives where they may stimulate growth
• Provide scheduling input to the commercial planning process
• Leverage client assets such as social media/EDM, work with the marketing team to secure content and other assets
• Interpret and analyze sales data and uncover insights from post-analysis to drive sales growth
• Work with SPT Research team on projects related to promotions, market intel, and social media monitoring, and leverage that data to drive transactional revenue growth
• Work with various SPT and Sony divisions on cross-promotions and other synergistic opportunities to drive incremental transactions

Regional Transactional Distribution support:
• Ensure all transactional digital SKU's go live on time and with the correct pricing and key art
• Updating Home Entertainment section of Sony Pictures websites in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia & Taiwan
• Provide administration, coordination and support for the Transactional Distribution team across all Asian markets with a focus on South East Asia, India, South Korea and Greater China.
• Update product pricing and promotions in the internal and external systems for clients like iTunes and Google Play
• Monitor pricing and promotion on stores (across Asia), share data and insights with the team
• Leverage drafting intel from Home Office and other territories to provide the Transactional Distribution team with a constant flow of placement solutions
• Attend monthly meetings with iTunes on promotions and sales strategy. Pull sales reports and data per requests.
• Update product schedule in the internal system, monitor and suggest schedules and dates for non-theatrical titles
• Liaise and manage the relationship with the digital avails and operations team in LA (CAMS)

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role you will:
• Be a degree holder with typically a minimum of 3 years (preferable +5 years) of sales, account management, or marketing experience, with a professional attitude and demeanor
• Have experience working in a multinational environment or entertainment/media industry in a similar role
• Be a Mandarin speaker, competent in verbal English and Cantonese
• Be competent in written English, written simplified Chinese, and written traditional Chinese - Translation skills from English to Chinese (simplified and traditional) are a plus
• Proficiency level with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint with Photoshop being a plus
• Excellent organizational skills, flexible, and a keen eye for detail
• Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and prioritize, must meet deadlines
• Be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills
• A passion for movies and TV shows will be highly regarded
• Have the appropriate immigration permission to live and work in either Hong Kong or Beijing
